The 14th annual Tails on the Trail dog walk fundraiser was held under beautiful sunny skies at Rancho San Carlos de Jonata in Ballard Canyon April 26.

The annual event is the main fundraiser benefiting the Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society, raising near $30,000 in past years. Participants walked their four-legged friends on one- or three-mile hikes through the cattle ranch before the food was served at a barbeque. Other activities, including contests and sport and working dog demonstrations, followed. Humane Society members also brought adoptable dogs to the event for dog lovers who might have had room for just one more.
