The Santa Ynez Valley Union High School tennis team is still at the top of the Los Padres League standings.

Going into its last several league matches before league finals, the team has a record of 8-0 in the Los Padres League and 9-5 overall. Despite injuries to several key athletes, the team won a match against St. Joseph High School last week.

The league finals will take place on May 8 at Templeton High School. The team will play its last home league match of the season on May 5 against Morro Bay.

In this photo, the team’s No. 1 singles player, sophomore Miles Seeman, hits back a shot in a recent match.

Seeman and Juan Ferrer are tied for the lead of league singles. Ferrer had to sit out two matches against St. Joseph because of an injury.
